São Paulo to Rio tolls on the Via Dutra (2026): plazas, prices, and the free flow leaving São Paulo

The concession

Concessionária do Sistema Rodoviário Rio–São Paulo S.A., trading as CCR RioSP within the Motiva group, signed its contract on 28 January 2022 for 30 years and has collected tolls since 1 March 2022. According to ANTT, the concession covers 625.80 km: the BR-116 between Seropédica and the Marginal Tietê, the Dutra, and the BR-101 Rio–Santos between the BR-465 and Ubatuba. The annual adjustment falls on 1 September.

Plaza by plaza, prices from 1 September 2026

ANTT Decision SUROD 1,053 of 14 August 2026 applied the 4.44 percent IPCA and a 4.93 percent Factor D, in force from midnight on 1 September 2026. The category 1 (car) amounts are those in the table, confirmed by the concessionaire's 2026 DUF table. Guararema and the advance booths are ramp plazas; the mainline has four.

The R$44.60 total assumes the four mainline plazas charge in the direction travelled; ANTT's pages do not state the charging direction, and the current list has no plaza in Rio besides Itatiaia. The concessionaire's toll calculator confirms the amount for your trip. In 2025 the same plazas cost R$4.50, R$8.10, R$16.90, and R$14.50.

Free flow leaving São Paulo

Since 6 December 2025 the Dutra charges by free flow between São Paulo and Arujá, km 231 to km 204, on the express lanes only: drivers on the marginal lanes do not pay. There are 19 access points and charging is per section travelled, with a tariff that varies by day and time; the concessionaire's example is R$0.52 for 4 km at 7 a.m. on a weekday. Motorcycles pay half, a tag gives 5 percent off, and drivers who pass the Arujá plaza do not pay the metropolitan free flow. Without a tag, payment is due within 30 days at pedagiodigital.com or in the Motiva Rodovias app.

Tag discounts: DBT and DUF

On the first passage with a tag the driver already saves 5 percent, the basic tag discount; commercial vehicles get 5 percent per axle. The frequent-user discount is automatic, with no registration, applies to categories 1, 3, and 5 in the automatic lanes at Arujá, Guararema, Jacareí, Moreira César, and Itatiaia, and starts from the second passage through the same plaza in the same direction within the month. The 2026 DUF table shows the effect: at Arujá the tariff falls from R$4.60 to R$4.37 on the first tag passage and to R$1.56 from the thirtieth; at Moreira César from R$17.10 to R$16.25 and then R$0.49.

Rio–Santos, motorcycles, and payment methods

The same concession runs the three free-flow gantries on the Rio–Santos, at Itaguaí, Mangaratiba, and Paraty, at R$4.90 on weekdays and R$8.10 at weekends and holidays since 1 September 2026. Motorcycles, scooters, tricycles, and mopeds are exempt at the Dutra plazas and the Rio–Santos gantries, the only exception being the half tariff on the metropolitan express lanes. At the plazas you can pay with cash, credit or debit card preferably contactless, Pix, cheque, Dbtrans voucher, and tag in the automatic lanes.
